Fill the void: turn a bowl or vase into an elegant accessory using everyday objects

While browsing the showrooms at the Las Vegas Market last week , I was reminded, once again, how easy it is to take relatively plain items and combine them to create dazzling decorations. Do you have a bowl? Do you have a vase? Either of these, a little imagination and some things you might have laying around your house are the only ingredients you need to add a refreshing bit of pizzazz to your living environment. One common element to notice here is repetition and multiples: repeating a pattern, layering textures or clustering them in multiples is a great way to punctuate the impact of this technique.

Here are a few examples I came across:

Acorns and fall foliage make a great seasonal combination.
